Mahakavi Kalidas is one of the main poets of Sanskrit literature. His creations are ranked among the greatest creations of the world. He has created a total of seven compositions, which is unique. He has composed three plays, two epics and two Khandakavyas. He has thrown light on every aspect of life in his creations. In the Khandakavyas of Kalidas, we get the depiction of many philosophies of life. Kalidas ji was a good geographer. We get the geographical information of India in his Khandakavya Meghdoot. In Meghdoot, the geographical location of India is described through the route told by the hero to Megh. Shaiv Darshan has been depicted by Badal through the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain. In his Khandakavyas, knowledge of life philosophy, geographical philosophy, Shaiv philosophy as well as knowledge of other philosophies is also obtained. Through the presented research paper, an attempt has been made to explain the philosophies described in the Khandakavyas of Mahakavi Kalidas.
