Effective Human Resource management depends largely upon sound recruitment and selection. The quality of arriving employees in an organization determines the effectiveness of several functions of human resource management, such as performance management, training, development, etc. Recruitment positive by nature is a process to raise the number of applicants by circulating information of the job requirement and vacant positions. On the other hand, selection, mainly negative by nature involves the identification of the applicant, most suitable matches with the job position requirements. An organization can select methods of recruitment and selection from a wide array of methods. There are several factors to be considered while determining the methods of recruitment and selection. So, to receive the best results at the end of both functions have been conducted. Some organizations have more progressive and advanced methods. Some have less, some perform more vigilantly, while some are more casual to do so. The present study is to Analyse the recruitment and selection process of the organization with a specific focus on HDFC bank, Prayagraj in a critical manner. The paper includes probable recommendations as well as suggestions for the further progression of the methods used for recruitment and selection, additionally the rise in the effectiveness of the same.
