Abstract

The present study is an attempt to identify the agriculture crop diversification region of the Jalore district. For provides a relationship between the relative areal strength of the crops grown in a study area. Jalore district is located towards the south-west of Rajasthan, situated between 24°37' to 25°49' North latitudes and 71°11’ to 73°05' East longitudes in the south Western portion of the state. The geographical area of the district is 10640 square kilometers. which is 3.11 percent of the total area of Rajasthan State. Jalore district has nine tehsils and it has 801 villages, out of 791 villages are inhabited and 10 villages are uninhabited. Jalore district is located at an altitude of 268 meters. The climate type of the study area is monsoonal. District has a population of 18, 28,730 persons with a population density of 172 persons per square kilometer (2011 Census). Bhatia’s (1965) method applies to compute crop diversification region for tehsils of Jalore district.
