Shekhawati is a subordinate province of Jaipur state of Rajputana in India. Founded and ruled by Rao Sheikha and his descendants, this region has a distinct rich culture and history. There are many patterns of folk culture of this region in which fairs and festivals have been infusing harmony, joy and gaiety in the lives of the people. Due to this region being a semi-arid region with a heterogeneous climate, life here has always been full of lively style. The result of this lifestyle is the historical water heritage of Shekhawati, with which fairs and festivals are associated here. These fairs and festivals, symbols of religious faith, revive the stepwells, wells, johads, ponds, pools of the area and when this water heritage is found, their pure water quenches the thirst, as well as the fairs filled in their presence and the cultural traditions associated with them fill the thrill in life.
