Since ancient times, farming has been the main and traditional foundation of people’s lives. Across the country, agricultural activities have been carried out primarily in the context of addressing the problem of food grains. Rajasthan, known as the land of deserts, has historically struggled with food shortages. The crisis of food security has remained a serious issue throughout the state. In the Shekhawati region too, particularly in rural areas, agriculture has served both as a means of livelihood and as a way to cope with the shortage of food grains. In Jhunjhunu district of the Shekhawati region, farming has traditionally been carried out with the objective of meeting local food requirements, while also supporting rural livelihoods. Instead of focusing on commercial purposes, emphasis has generally been placed on the production of crops that ensure food security for the people. Over time, however, changes in agriculture have also brought changes in crop production. Today, farming is no longer limited to food crops alone, but also includes crops that provide income and fulfill other needs of life, with an increasing focus on profitability.
Kuldeep Kumar, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://www.jmsjournals.in/index.php/jmsg/article/view/311 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Bimbvadi Kavi Chandrakant Devtal: Ek Samikshatmak Adhyan https://www.jmsjournals.in/index.php/jmsg/article/view/312
The meaning of Bimb (imagery) is the mental image or picture of an object or scene. It is a perception that arises when we see, hear, smell, touch, or taste something. In literature, imagery is used to create a vivid and clear picture in the reader’s mind. Within literary streams, changes and developments have occurred in circumstances, poetic tendencies, and styles over time. At present, imagery sometimes appears in a refined form as a figure of speech. In fact, the place once occupied by rhetorical ornaments (alankars) in ancient times has now been taken by imagery.
The poets of this literary tradition have skillfully used this art to depict the contemporary conditions of their times. Poet Dhoomil Devtale, in his poetry collections, has adopted a refined form of this art to strongly convey his emotions to readers and listeners. Through the flow of emotions in his imagery, at times he has made a hyena laugh, elsewhere he has shown the drama of language through imagery, and even engaged in a lively dialogue with the shadow of an ox. These are unmatched attempts of the poet’s art of imagery. The poet has succeeded in conveying, through imagery, the feelings that words alone could not define, even to illiterate and uneducated audiences.
In his poetry, Devtale has employed various kinds of imagery—gross, dynamic, pictorial, visual, auditory, gustatory, olfactory, tactile, abstract, synthetic, and color imagery—to successfully reach his readers.
Dr. Banwari Lal Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://www.jmsjournals.in/index.php/jmsg/article/view/312 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Comparison of Rainfall Variability in the Kurnool Division of the Rayalaseema Region of Andhra Pradesh https://www.jmsjournals.in/index.php/jmsg/article/view/323
Water is essential for everyone. It comes from rain, as well as from streams and canals. Lakes, ponds, rivers, watersheds, oceans, and seas are all sources of water. Rainfall plays a significant role in Indian agriculture and is crucial for the nation. It impacts not only agriculture but also households, industries, and other businesses across the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors. This underscores the importance of studying rainfall distribution and variability in drought-prone areas like the Rayalaseema region. Some rural and urban settlements are experiencing water shortages. The government is implementing sanitation schemes in both rural and urban areas. The research utilizes statistical methods, including a periodic analysis of annual rainfall differences. It examines the variability of district rainfall in the Kurnool division of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh over a decade, from 2000 to 2021. The findings indicate important fluctuations in rainfall patterns, with implications for agricultural productivity and water management strategies in the region.
Dr. M. The novel reflects the silent conflict of Jaya, an educated and introspective woman, who finds herself torn between her roles as a wife, mother, and writer. Deshpande uses Jaya’s journey to expose the psychological and emotional dilemmas that middle-class women face while navigating between their personal aspirations and the expectations imposed by society. The narrative, told in the first person, reveals the protagonist’s gradual awakening to her suppressed identity and her realization that silence is both her shield and her prison. The novel’s stream-of-consciousness technique and use of irony lend authenticity to Jaya’s voice, highlighting her transformation from passive acceptance to quiet assertion. Deshpande’s portrayal goes beyond mere feminist protest; it is an exploration of the universal human need for self-definition and communication. That Long Silence thus becomes a powerful study of the feminist dilemma the tension between compliance and rebellion that defines the experience of modern Indian women.
Dr. R.
